How it works
Upload your CV
Drop in your CV or resume as a PDF file. The text is read from the document, so a PDF made from Word or Google Docs works best.
AI reviews it
The review reads your CV the way a recruiter and an applicant tracking system would: structure, sections, formatting, wording and keywords.
Fix what matters
You get an overall score, a score for each area and a list of specific changes, starting with the ones that make the most difference.
What the CV check covers
Overall CV score
A score out of 100 with a short comment on what is holding it back. 80 and above is excellent, 60 to 79 is good, and below 60 needs work.
Structure and sections
Which sections your CV has, which ones employers expect that are missing, and whether the order makes it easy to scan.
Formatting
Columns, tables and graphics that can confuse software, and missing elements such as dates or contact details.
Keywords and action verbs
The keywords found in your CV, ones you repeat too often, and stronger action verbs to use in your experience.
Language and clarity
Grammar mistakes with where they occur, and a clarity score for how easy your CV is to read.
Content quality
How many achievements you back with numbers, generic phrases to replace, and how to make your results stand out.
Common CV weaknesses the check finds
Duties instead of results
"Responsible for sales" says less than "Grew monthly sales by 20% in six months". The check counts quantified achievements and flags vague lines.
A missing or generic summary
A summary that could fit anyone wastes the first lines a recruiter reads. Name your role, your strongest skills and what you are looking for.
Layouts software cannot read
Text in images, headers or side columns may be skipped by an applicant tracking system. A single column with plain headings is safest.
Missing contact details or dates
Recruiters need a phone number, an email address and clear dates for each role and qualification.
What a CV score can and cannot tell you
The score measures how clear, complete and well presented your CV is. It cannot judge whether you are right for a particular job, and it is not a prediction of interviews or offers. To see how your CV fits a specific role, compare it with the job description.
Questions and answers
Is the CV checker free?
Yes, you can upload your CV and get your score without creating an account, and a free account includes one free scan every month. A pass unlocks unlimited scans for as long as it runs.
Which file types can I upload?
PDF files. If your CV is a Word document, save or export it as a PDF first.
Does it work for resumes as well as CVs?
Yes. The checker reviews CVs and resumes the same way.
Who can see my CV?
Your CV is processed to produce your results and is not shared with employers. The Privacy Policy explains what is stored and which providers handle it.
