How it works

  1. Set up the interview

Enter the job title and company, add the job description and your CV, and choose a technical or behavioural interview.

  2. Answer the questions

Your interviewer asks one question at a time, out loud. Answer by speaking or by typing.

  3. Review your feedback

Each answer gets a rating out of 5, an explanation and a stronger example answer, with an overall score and summary.

What you can practise

Role-specific questions

Questions are based on the job description and your CV, so you practise for the role you want rather than a generic list.

Technical interviews

Questions on the skills, tools and problems the role involves.

Behavioural interviews

Questions about how you have handled situations at work, which are best answered with the STAR method.

Speaking your answers

Answering out loud is closer to the real thing than writing. Voice answers need a microphone and a browser that supports speech recognition, such as Chrome.

Example: answering with the STAR method

"Tell me about a time you solved a problem at work." A strong answer covers four things:

Situation

Set the scene briefly: "Our team's customer complaints had doubled in a quarter."

Task

Say what you were responsible for: "I was asked to find out why and fix it."

Action

Explain what you did, in the first person: "I sorted the complaints by cause and found most were about late deliveries, so I changed how orders were scheduled."

Result

Finish with the outcome, with a number if you have one: "Complaints fell by half within two months."
